Music Business Degree
The objectives of this program are to provide business and music industry instruction that prepares students for employment as entry- level employees and self-employed entrepreneurs in the music industry; to deliver essential, current skills through hands-on practice in areas
including promotion, marketing and audio production; and to provide general education training that enhances communication, analytical and inferential reasoning skills directly applicable to the music business student.
Students will learn negotiating with record companies, film companies, managers, recording studios and artists. Students will learn how to facilitate the needs of the artist. Students will have a comprehensive understanding of the music industry and its interrelated business elements. Students shall exemplify a professional business image, with a keen understanding of employers needs in the Music industry. Students will have all the skills needed to supervise recording projects in project studios as well as dealing with the personnel that are needed to run a successful music operation. Graduates completing this program can expect entry level jobs at production houses, record labels, radio and TV stations, booking agencies, local clubs, retail operations and live performances. Graduates will possess the skills needed for starting up their own Music Business companies.
